Ceo Comensation Is On The Radar

Dec 27

There is a bill in the progress before the House of Representatives that is trying to put the issue of the pay and compensation package that executives of publicly traded companies receive in front of stockholders. It is obvious that executive pay is out of control in many caess.

This bill is actually expected to pass through the house successfully; however, it is unclear how well the Senate will receive it. Is this bill the right direction for a modern America, or do we need to consider more intimately the economic implications of such a decision? Not everyone lives paycheck to paycheck picking up side jobs as they go!

The White House has already formally registered its opposition to such a plan, however the backers are unconcerned. Many feel that the compensation plans of the major officers of the publicly traded companies should be tied to the performance of the company and the officers themselves, and not to the figures that the officers wish to receive.

This bill if passed could place an enormous amount of power into the hands of stockholders who are upset with the way several companies have behaved lately, with declining profits and horrible business practices while the officers of the companies have picked up large compensation packages that include their salary, benefits, and stock options. Each officer can end up with hundreds if not thousands in profits even while the company is performing badly, which stockholders believe is an inequitable outcome.

Many have wondered if the officers in charge of these companies would tighten the belts on spending if their own pay was tied to their performance rather than their wishes, and with numerous companies falling short of profits with huge pay packages going out, and raises occurring almost yearly many investors have started complaining loudly.

While current President Bush has urged the officers of the companies to step up and take responsibility. He has also said that it is not an issue that the government should become involved in. How far should the government extend into a private business? How many people would really feel comfortable with the idea of having the government determine what their pay could be? Most Americans can agree that they would not like the idea of the government interfering with their job and pays.

At the same time, while most Americans do not wish to have the government intruding into their jobs and careers, many still want some measures put into place to hold the executives accountable who are responsible for multi-million and multi-billion companies that employ hundreds to thousands of people.

Many have argued that the concept is nothing new; it is similar to ideas that are currently in place in countries such as Sweden, Australia and even in Britain. With examples such as those to follow, it makes people wonder if this actually does have the chance to pass through the House of Representatives and the Senate once the voting time has arrived.

With time as the key factor, there is scheduled to be a vote on the issue in the House of Representatives in the very near future, which is very much expected to pass without much opposition. It is the next step in the Senate that is where it starts getting sticky with people unsure of the results once the voting in the Senate starts. However, with increasing support from the people, many of whom work for companies affected by this issue, there is scope for a mass political influence, which will certainly make the outcome interesting.
In the meantime, you can learn about work at home side jobs here.

Customer Trends During The Credit Crunch

Dec 27

Everyone is aware that we are in the grips of a global recession and with retail sector giants like Woolworths going under, it is no wonder that everyone is concerned. The future prospects are not good for many retail companies as they are in a situation where the banks that were once happy to lend them money have turned round and said no. This is because retail business customers are now considered a high risk, which can cause big problems for small shops as they rely on the banks for their cash flow. This means that most of these companies have their money tied up in stock and this means they either have no money until they sell the stock or they have to reduce the amount of stock from suppliers.

A A way to fix the current economic climate is to try and get consumers to buy more and this is why many companies are now trying to come up with business growth plans, utilising marketing like telemarketing and public relations, in order to survive. Lots of companies are now selling off a lot of their stock at reduced rates so that they can free up some of their funds in order to pay off important bills and to keep their creditors at bay. The problem with this is that most shoppers will now wait until prices have dropped right down, rather than buying products now when the businesses need it. This means that shoppers tend to only spend money on products that they believe that they have to have.

It would seem that shoppers are still happy to make purchases but they will only spend it on things that they can rationalise, this will mean that they will spend money on bills, food and health products as well as gifts at certain times of year. People will also still spend their cash on special occasions like weddings because these are often a once in a lifetime experience and no man is going to deny his daughter the Castle Wedding she has always wanted. People are also prepared to spend out on gifts for weddings especially when it comes to jewellery like Ladies Cufflinks.

It would seem that consumers are becoming cleverer with their money. A recent report said that Manchester restaurants and takeaways were still doing well and that the reason for this was because consumers are still ordering takeaway food but are going for the less expensive option. Rather than using big household names like Dominos they are opting to go to local Manchester restaurants as these cost around 20% less.

Internet Network Marketing – Best Make Money From Home Opprotunity For 2009

Dec 26

If you are looking for a make money working from home opportunity then the pitfalls you will encounter are in a word – enormous. We’re not talking about the lack of opportunities but the exact opposite – there are thousands upon thousands of home business opportunities to choose from.

so which one do you pick? How to you choose the one best suited to you? The question you should be asking is how do I avoid the bad opportunities…the ones just out to take my money and give nothing in return. Welcome to the real world of home business opportunity seekers.

The biggest problem is getting stuck on a merry-go-round of opportunities – that is, going from one to another, spending lots of money to buy in and then jumping ship when something else comes along promising greater riches in faster time.

Network Marketing Opportunities

Right now, network marketing is one of the best home business modules to look at. Why? Well, things are changing fast within an industry which has developed a notorious reputation over the years. We won’t go into why that is only to say it has something to do with prospecting methods but right now, the internet and network marketing are being used in the same breath and the opportunity is enormous.

The prospecting landscape has changed for the better and internet network marketing has never had it so good from a lead generation perspective.

The problem with someone fresh on the scene for the first time is trying to figure out if an opportunity presented to them is all it’s being promoted as. Here’s the point we want to make in this article.

You need to distinguish between those opportunities which just sell the dream and those which sell both the dream and the how to. Think about this for a moment. If you are drawn into an opportunity because you were taken with what it can give you that’s great. But one of the first things you want to check before signing on is will there be a blueprint or how to for you to follow which will show you how to achieve your dream.

Make Sure You Get Training

If you sign on and have a ton of information shoved at you and are then left to figure it out for yourself then look for something else. It’s one of the big problems with those selling information for profit online today. Many believe the majority know how to sell a dream but fall down badly when it comes to showing people how to get there.

There’s even a suggestion that this suits information sellers because it gives them the opportunity to sell another piece of the puzzle a little later down the track and then again and again and again. In an inter network marketing business you want to be making sure that you have a system to plug into and this should include lots of training on how to both build web properties and market them.

Customer Care This Christmas

Dec 25

The UK had its busiest online buying day of the year (December 8th) as millions of people exchanged the high street for the click of a mouse.

An incredible ?320 million was predicted to be payed online throughout the day.
The peak shopping hour being between 1pm-2pm as workers log-on during their dinner breaks to find their Xmas presents and ?28 million looks possible to have been spent during this hour alone. This is twice the quantity spent during the peak hour (midday) on Monday 11th December 2006.

5 ways that internet businesses can cope better with the extra demand using their non-geographic telephone numbers (0845, 0800, 03 numbers etc):

1. Online Call Statistics packages work alongside non-geographic telephone numbers and allow businesses to see the total number of calls coming into the business, busy periods and missed calls etc. to their phone numbers. Businesses can then use this information to help businesses organise their employees effectively during hectic periods / days of the week.

2. Call Queuing functions are often associated with call centres and huge corporations. These days however many SME’s are providing call queuing with their non-geographic telephone numbers in order to take more calls, deal with their enquirers in an effective way and increase their sales. Large and little businesses can line up to 100 people at any particular time. Call queuing packages are also used as a chance to play customers advertising messages.

3. - Voicemail to email functions let businesses receive their voicemails as an audio file to an email account of their choosing. This would help to ensure that any missed calls all through busy periods would get dealt with by the correct person, straight away.

4. Call Divert is a popular feature that is used with non-geographic numbers and allows businesses to identify different landline/mobile numbers that enquirers are pointed to in the event of an emergency / landline failure. Businesses can choose the number of seconds the phone rings before sending the enquiry to another number – which might be a home/mobile number or call answering service out of hours etc.

5. Call management systems are all controlled online with any alterations put into action instantly – giving businesses flexibility over their phone systems to build the number of sales and enquiries.

As this information displays, businesses can easily be ready of the busiest online shopping days of the year and it doesn’t have to cost them huge amounts to do so – just a smart telephone number and lots of extra people to help add up the takings!
